April is going to be so eggciting!
We are in April!!
That means have had a quarter of the year already! WOW!
This month continues to be super exciting as it's Easter but more importantly it's the release of my debut solo album!!
Starting with Easter, some of my Patreons have let me know their favourite easter memories!
Gwen loves Cadburys dairy milk chocolate.
Linda loves Lindt truffles and always has an Easter brunch with friends!
Roger celebrates Easter at church and loves the music. His choice of chocolate is a creme egg but he also loves white chocolate. Him and his sisters did their own egg hunt and then would rehire the eggs and find them again until they were almost mush!
Darleen doesn't go to church at Easter as that's when people who only go twice a year turn up, and as a regular she'd rather watch the Easter service on the TV. Being allergic to chocolate, Darleen eats the inside of the creme egg only!
Susan already has her Easter egg ready and it's an orange twirl - great choice! She also always video calls her big brother and speaks to her nieces.
Heather will be leading the singing in church on good Friday and Easter Sunday and she will be making hot cross buns for everyone! Her favourite Easter egg is a Cadburys crunchie!
Roslyn loves a Guylian seashell. She remembers getting a new hat and coat on Easter for the Sunday school Easter celebrations.
Hannah makes her own Easter eggs nests.
Elizabeth likes all kinds of chocolate!!
Jackie loves an Easter egg hunt although her mum used to only give her small eggs as family friends would buy her bigger eggs and her mum didn't want her to eat too much chocolate! Lindt is her favourite, whether that's eggs, chicks or carrots!
Lots of them remember dyeing eggs as well which is something I've never tried so I will have to give that a go!
I always love an Easter egg hunt and I think any dairy milk big egg trumps any other big egg. I also love a creme egg and the small Lindt eggs too!

It has been such a lengthy process but such a fun one!
I had about 50 songs in mind and just practised them all and actually recorded maybe 18 in the studio but some just didn't work the way I'd intended. It's a really strange feeling when you have a vision and have to change that vision. Some songs that work really well live don't always lend themselves to an album version.
There are harmonies on the album that are all ME! I lay down the tune and then sang the higher octaves and different harmonies to give certain songs more power.
I actually went into the studio multiple times, with sometimes weeks between sessions to allow the producers to add more instruments and also to let the song settle before I went back in to record more or re-record as sometimes the song needed to build more so I would have to re-record a chorus with a stronger vocal to match the more powerful instruments at that moment.
Costs wise, things can be very expensive. You have to pay for arrangements, edits, studio time, musicians, cover design, printing, promotion and obviously distribution. Alongside my travel costs and time, I decided not to write down all my expenses otherwise I might have a breakdown but I knew this album was something I wanted to do regardless of cost!
The album cover was actually taken during my 2025 calendar shoot as I knew I wanted to make the album and had a clear idea of what I wanted it to look like. I've worked with Leo Holden (Snooty Fox Images) for 10 years so I felt in safe hands.
Once the image was chosen, another designer actually sent me colour hue options to choose for the album cover but I thought maybe these could be the single covers and then the album could be the black and white version which I'm so happy about!
I'm singing all the songs for the album LIVE for the first time on May 3rd in Birmingham and you can get your tickets here: https://www.oldjointstock.co.uk/whats-on/michael-auger-album-launch
I'm nervous and excited to sing the songs live for you all. They are all tough sings so it will be interesting to sing them all together for the first time. PLUS there will be other songs that I love to sing to make up a full show!
I cannot wait for you all to be listening to my new album SOMEONE LIKE ME!
Love Michael :D
